bio
Kerrigan A. Swan-Garcia was born in a rural community on the Washington-Idaho border. Following 16 years of writing bad poetry and making loud music she enrolled in Spokane Falls Community College and completed her final 2 years of High School as far away from one as possible. After graduation she relocated to Seattle's Capitol Hill where she initially found work in the fashion and entertainment industries.
Since receiving her first camera in 2005, Swan-Garcia has transitioned from editing and composition in a corporate setting to freelance photography, digital art, and web design. She established Chat Noir Photographie in 2007 and feels fortunate to have worked with subjects representative of her wide range of interests including industrial, historical, fashion, and fine art photography. Social justice and animal welfare are also continuing themes in Swan-Garcia's work; she has donated photographic services to organizations such as Global Daughter, Citizens for Off-Leash Areas, and the Doney Memorial Vet Clinic.
